Organisation and Planning
At the start of each academic year, teachers agree a ‘long term plan’ for their year group. They decide which IPC units they will teach each half term, what their Literacy and Numeracy focus will be and note any national or global events that are planned e.g. Olympics. The long term plan will also include any Chaggim (Jewish festivals) as the Jewish calendar shapes much of school life.
This is an example of a long term plan for 2014-2015
The teachers use yearly overviews for each class, alongside school policies and guidelines, to plan and develop each topic into ‘medium term plans’.
Here is an example of one of our medium term plan
From the termly plan staff prepare ‘weekly plans’ for the class to deliver concepts and skills. The teacher prepares differentiated activities for each of the subjects and through on-going assessment and record keeping, addresses the needs of all the children.
Have a look at our Curriculum Maps to find out what is happening this term.
